Missed Job Interview due to illness, HELP!

Well as you are not my doctor I think I will have to disagree with you there as I was told otherwise on Thursday morning.
Oh here we go what a stupid statement, this is nothing more than people who would have a virus for days before it is apparent and manifested itself but yet the person or persons have already transmitted it everywhere.
I have made sure I have worked away from my team and any visits to sites I have completed the work remotely. My work needs above intelligence and need to be on point but that is not an issue
By the way I am not a fool, nor liked to any cell
Why on earth did you need to see your doctor as a viral infection needs no medical input unless you have a medical condition which makes you more vulnerable which would make it all the more ridiculous to be at work.
Real flu makes you so ill that if it started last Sunday you would not be able to go to work, you would have been hard placed to get out of bed.
Sorry OP but this attitude really annoys me.:mad:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Well I refer you to my previous point that you are not my doctor but as I feel the need to defend myself against someone making sweeping statements it is because of chronic asthma and the tightness of my chest, pretty standard for me.Torry_Quine wrote: »Why on earth did you need to see your doctor as a viral infection needs no medical input unless you have a medical condition which makes you more vulnerable which would make it all the more ridiculous to be at work.

Also the doctor confirmed what I had which is what I stated above, so no point in making assumptions or sweeping statements0 -
Sorry? Are we to believe that your GP saw you, advised you that you had flu and did not suggest that you stayed at home or take time off work, especially as you are an asthmatic?
If you do suffer from asthma then I believe you are offered the flu vaccine as you are in a very high risk group!!
Therefore you should not get the full blown illness or (if you are not vaccinated) you would have been very ill indeed and should probably have been hospitalised.
I assume that your doctor had to visit you at home as a genuine flu case would not be able to get to the surgery?
Also - agree with the above posters who comment on taking your germs to work and spreading them throughout the workforce/general population. I hate it when people do this, if you are genuinely ill then stay at home. It's not rocket science!!!There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0 -
What was your temperature? It all comes down to this when I had the proper flu rather than man flu my temperature was between 39 and almost up to 41. I couldn't physically move out of my bed and close to 41 was almost delirious. If you went to work with these symptoms you would have put yourself and others in danger.0

Think it is his fault personally. I have had the flu since last Sunday, temperature, a continuous tickly cough every few minutes (which I was conscious about both on the train and in the office) as well as a chesty chest with the obligatory phlegm etc and proper suffered as some nights I couldnt get to sleep due to the cough and nothing has shaken it so far although I feel like it is subsiding now.
Yet I still went into work every day last week up at 6am and back at 8am. Think he should have gone in personally, would have shown me if interviewing that he is committed as such and wanted it.
So you got up at 6am and came back 2 hours later? Wow, can I have your job?0 -
It's not illegal but it's certainly bad practice.
Shame on them.
And if it is flu - then you are floored. You can't even make a decision about whether to go in or not as the decision is taken out of your hands. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Again some of you above making assumptions with my situation you know nothing about but still looking to dig me out. You all assume I did not have flu but a variant or man flu as mentioned. However the OP has stated that her partner had flu same as myself. So why have none of you made the same assumptions? So what is the difference between the two statements, why assume mine was not lesser or worse than the OP's partners? Probably because your all a bit bored and feel the need to dig someone out because as far as I can see there is nothing between the statements.Ronaldo_Mconaldo wrote: »So you got up at 6am and came back 2 hours later? I work as a contractor, If I dont go in I dont get paid, putting it simple that is the motivational factor here for me, I dont have the luxury of sick days and getting paid for them, all ganging up with each other against me in this forum just makes you look very poor.
I was merely making the point that if this was me with this prospective opportunity regardless of circumstances I would have gone to it regardless, but thats just me. The rest of you it seems would rather sit back and let it pass by.0 -

To the complete disregard of others - you don't get paid therefore you feel justified in exposing all around you to flu (highly contagious) who in turn may carry the virus home, potentially exposing vulnerable individuals, all because you insist on attending a job.
Thanks for that!Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Which bit is bad practice (in your opinion)? I see no issue whatsoever.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

No different to people carrying the virus a few days before the symptoms arise and passing it on everywhere. Getting !!!!ed off having to defend myself in each and not going to go into what I done or didnt do but I am more than aware of hygiene and did far more than you will know minimising it as best as possible. To the complete disregard of others - you don't get paid therefore you feel justified in exposing all around you to flu (highly contagious) who in turn may carry the virus home, potentially exposing vulnerable individuals, all because you insist on attending a job.
