Sweet hamper for christmas

Hi everyone,

I've done a search but can't find my answer on any of the boards. However, if it's already been asked please do let me know and im happy for the thread to be deleted :)

I'm doing my own sweet hampers for my neices and nephew for christmas this year, with party boxes. I'm so excited about doing presents and wrapping etc now that I can't wait to get them done.
Does anyone have any idea of when the best time to put together sweetie hampers for xmas would be? I'll be buying the sweets online shops like aquarterof and any other stores I can find them relatively cheaper than shops, so i'm guessing they won't be packaged in plastic wrapping and it'll be the normal sweeties shop wrappers.

Just worried about them going sticky or soggy, or realllyy chewy!

Thanks x

I suppose it depends on what sort you're getting. Perhaps you order them & when delivered, store them in an airtight container?
  • as above, if the sweets are already wrapped you can make a start straight away, or put loose ones into little bags or airtight containers, and again you can make a start. I make candy boquets, and as I have quite a few to do this year i have already made a start, i only use pre-wrapped chocs and sweets, that way as long as i store them in a cool dark place (usually my garage!) i can have them al made up, wrapped and ready to go by the beginning of december! Good look, i know making and giving these kind of gifts is wonderful fun!
