Should I call regarding my win?

I got a call from a radio station on 16th October to say that I had won a cheque for £1000 and was told it could take up to 2 weeks to reach me. I'm getting lots of negative vibes from non-comping friends and family who think it's a scam and although I did enter the comp and the lady did have my address, I admit I am starting to worry a little.

Do you think it would be okay to call today (the lady left me her phone number) or should I wait the full 2 weeks? (which would be Tuesday)

I would wait two weeks and a little bit of lee-way for the weekends.

Most people say you shouldn't chase up a win until 28 working days have passed but i am sure it will be on its way to you soon.

Give them a ring middle of next week if you haven't heard anything and are starting to worry but i am sure it will all work out

I'd wait till at least after the post on Monday before calling. You could check if the station name comp winners on their websit site or try a "google" of the phone number you have.

When I had my first win (a holiday), I received an email whilst I was at work to tell me of my win and all my colleagues were skeptical that it was genuine. It was genuine, I went, it was fab.

Try not to worry, I'm sure the cheque will arrive soon.

Definitely recommend waiting for the whole 2 weeks and then when the cheque arrives shove it in their faces lol

    Congratulations on your win xx

Has nobody warned you about the CWTCE (competition winner's time continuum effect)?

What happens is that time spent waiting for a prize actually moves at half the speed of the rest of the world. This is why it always takes twice as long to get a prize, than to deliver one :D

Funny I got the same reaction from colleagues when I got my first big win "be careful" "watch who your giving your details to"..........my win was also delayed and think the longer it went on the more I was disbelieved which then started the alarm bells ringing in my mind.
Anyway prize arrived after dropping them an email so sure yours will also.
Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards
