and everyone else gets a paid day off...............I don't think that is particularly fair.
If they needed someone in, they should have asked for volunteers and if you do work it they should give you a days holiday to even it up.0 -
As Boxing day is a holiday -I have a feeling you can't be forced to work it however-but again worth checking you contract for "needs of the business" clause .
Nothing special about Boxing Day (or other bank/public holidays) as far as an employer requiring workers to carry out their duties is concerned. If the contract doesn't specify that this bank holiday is a holiday for the employee, the company can require attendance.0
