Life coming to an end! HELP!!!

Hey guys.......Around 1 & 1/2 years ago, my girlfriend of 5 years at the time announced she was leaving for Australia and a big reason for it was because of the debt I had. Low point in my life, but when she left I made the choice to sort myself and and went into an IVA, which I started paying into in Sept 2005.
After only 6 months in Oz (so a year ago), she turned up home again saying she'd made a mistake and wanted to make a life with me. I was so happy and we started saving to move into our own place. We started renting our place in Sept of last year, but I found out on tuesday that she'd handed the notice in last Friday!! Low point again!
I can't move back home as my sister and her son have moved in so there simply isn't the room. I have no other family or friends I could live with and can't afford a place of my own due to the IVA. I'm currently paying back around 80% of my debt back. Can anyone advise what my options are??

Have you contacted your local council? If you are about to be made homeless they should treat you as a priority case. Ring them ASAP!

But how would I pay for a council house? Half of my monthly wage goes on my IVA, so the absolute maximum I could afford would be £400 a month, surely that wouldn't be enough0 -
Council rents are usually quite cheap conpared to private renting. I pay £98 per week for a 2 bed flat in London.0

If your circumstances change you should contact the IVA co and tell them there might be something they can do.
You could move into a house share which would be a lot cheaper than renting.0 -
I rent an ex-council flat, when it was a council flat the rent was £200pm, it's only now about £260pm. It's large and has 2 bedrooms, large-ish bathroom and kitchen (bit smaller, but hey.) Depending on how much you earn you may be eligible for council tax & housing benefit help with rent. If you live on your own you get 25% off council tax anyway. Plus if it's only you, why do you need a house?
Contact CAB for more information, they are extremely helpful and will point you to sources of further help. But I still advise that you call the council Housing Dept. and get advice from them, too.

I thought about that, but I don't like the idea of the idea of living with total strangers and all their dirty habbits!!0
