Hi everyone

I need to borrow your brains as mines gone blonder than usual! I've just been sorting some things out in the kitchen and found a large container of those drawstring bags they give you with soap powder tablets, its a shame to throw them out, but I'll be blowed if I can come up with a use for them!!! It's not all my fault, the manufacturers should not put them in every box, then I wouldn't feel obliged to keep them! Maybe they should sell the bags seperately for say 20p so if you need one you buy one and knock 20p off the price of soap powder.
I've used them for soapnuts so far, put one in the bathroom to collect the bits of soap bars in and filled a couple with cotton wool balls and added some essential oils to them to make some DIY smellies, they don't look very attractive granted but they do the job. Thing is I have about 10 of the ruddy things and I really don't want to throw them away, so any ideas for alternative uses would be grand.

WE have one with game counters in. I use one for a tiny make-up bag in my handbag (I'm pretty low maintenance so only have a lipstick and some Nivea
)
There's an older thread so I'll add this thread to keep all ideas together.

You could hang soap in one on an outside tap.
Saves traipsing inside if you're gardening or whatever.0 -
some of the PTA mums dyed a batch of these red and another green for the Christmas fayre's kiddie tombola. The lady that had the original idea had used these to make an Advent calendar for children.
The red though, came out a dark pink but I'm not sure how intense the shade was to start off though - but I don't think there were any complaints.0 -
Do they still do the net bags in their powder? I use them for several things, especially for soapnuts, where I use one inside the other to stop the little bits escaping, but after a while, they turn a murky brown (strange when my clothes get cleaner...).
I could really do with some fresh ones. Will either buy persil for a change (goes against the grain though) or try to 'bag' some freebies. Does anyone know if they have a customer service number I could call to get clean supplies?
Actually as I am typing this, I am coming up with ideas.. I may just come back and answer my own questions later on!:o
Later on......
... Yep, thought so, www.persil.com have a "request dosing device" page!
And just a cheeky thought... if anyone has surplus they are happy to freecycle, please pm me.:DIf I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!0 -
I use them to wash tights, lingerie etc in, saves buying the special bags you can get for delicates0

La-Cara, you stole my thunder;) I was amazed no-one else had posted this yet. I had a few of them hanging around, sure that they'd come in for something....and then had some delicate tights to wash- bagged 'em up, chucked 'em in my normal wash and then pegged the whole thing on the line. The tights are still in the bag in my drawer, waiting for the nexy outing- so they help keep the whole drawer a little tiderWon Mulberry Bag Jan 09
