Email the answer and your details to...

For example: What colour is go on a traffic light?

a) Red
b) Green
c) Chocolate

Email us the answer at thisisntactuallyacomp@sodontexpectaprize.com

How do people email the answer? It's just I'm not sure what the etiquette would be when the comp doesn't state what the email should have in it.

Also, (I know it's been brought up before but I couldn't spot it) what details do you enter when they say enter details? Name, address, phone number, email? Some/All of those?

Please discuss.

FTR, I use all for details and just answer for answer.

  • I'd enter the way the website has it set up or if it doesn't have multiple choice I reply with 'Answer: answer here'.

I always include just what they ask for or if it vaguely says details I add name, address, phone number in that order.

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

My email is set up so the signature states my name, address, telephone number & email addy.

If the comp has no subject title then I usually put the OP's title in, e.g. Win a bar of chocolate, then above my signature details put the answer

so b) green if that's what it is xx
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

To save time when entering email competitions, I have my email signature set out as follows

    Mrs Something Name
    1 Example Avenue
    Sometown
    Some County
    AA1 1AA
    Tel: 07xxxxxxxxx
    Email: Mrssomething@example.com

Therefore, all I ever need to add is the answer, which I put at the top, unless they ask for something extra, like date of birth.

I agree with just putting Answer: 'answer given as choice'

(I don't like putting letters e.g. b) before my answer, but if the comp outlines that I'll just do it that way)

My email signature is set up to include my full name, address & phone number. I tend to include all 3 unless only name & address is specified. :)

Unless there is a specified reason not to, I copy (often by C&Ping) the letter/answer format used in the comp.

When it asks for "details", I will usually send my name and address. My sig is also set up to include phone no and email, but I delete them where not asked for. Three reasons:

    1) Why give anyone your phone number and risk being pestered without having to?

    2) No point sending an email and adding your email address, if you're emailing, they've got it.

    3) (And this is the biggie) I don't want to come across like the greedy/professional comper that I am.
