  • Twirly,

Well done on taking steps to get your finances under control and more importantly tackling your addiction.

Tackling your addiction is the single biggest step you can take to getting your life back.

The more you beat yourself up, the harder it is. We all make mistakes (my mistakes have cost me 6 figure sums), it is only human to do so. Therefore, you really need to stop feeling rubbishy, and wishing you had more money and you also need to stop thinking of yourself as a gambling addict because you are indeed a recovering gambling addict.

Good luck. I hope you continue being strong and stay away from gambling. If you need support this (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1090463) is a brilliant thread where you will get a lot of support.

Well things have changed slightly, I have just put a deposit down on a place for next year that requires me starting to save NOW!!!! but now i owe my mum the deposit money so my bursary will have to go towards that but I am still very much towards saving for this place and chucking money at my debt! I have £13 in my purse and no intention on spending anymore until the weekend! then it will be half way through the pay month and i will still have over half my wage in my bank! woop! doing well.
 How did I let it get such a mess?
