loan protection cover

I've been offered a loan and was told that the loan protection cover would be good idea.

got the paperwork this morning and realised my repayments include £30 worth of protection!! can i ring them up and say i don't want the protect cover but would like to use the £30 to pay off the actual loan?

I'm new to all this finance stuff :)
