Credit Reports dont really tell us enough

I got mine today, and i'll admit its bad, however from the credit report only 4 things flashed red. do i assume once those are back in order and the CCJs are cleared my score will start to improve.
Why aren't all the old debts showing up, is this because they were sold off?
also does anyone know about this rule, which means if a debt is unacknowledged for a certain amount of years (would like to know how many?) then these can be fully written off. maybe going bankrupt is not the best way forward.

Reasons old debts may not show include....
(a) Defaulted debts are removed from your report 6 years after you were defaulted. Regardless of whether you have paid them or not.
(b) They are on a report from the other 2 CRAs.
(c) They have been sold on and the purchaser does not report info to the CRAs.
(d) When getting your report you did not give a complete or correct enough history of addresses, meaning that the info on the debts didn't get linked into the report that the CRA generated. It is done automatically by computer based on the personal detail and addresses you give. If the info you to get your report is incomplete, then the report can be as well.
Which of those applies? Who knows?
If you check your reports with the other 2 then that may (or not) shed light.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

An excellent article on the ICO's site about getting all 3, the old fashioned way.
