Payday Loan Misery!

Options
Hi everyone! I've been struggling with payday loans for the best part of the last year and finally decided to do something about it after reading so many posts on here about people being in the same situation.
Due to default with mine on Friday so sent emails to Wonga, Peachy Loans, Quickquid and Lending Stream offering repayment plans. Thought I best give them some notice to say that I wouldn't be paying. Will try again on Friday. Paid the rollover fees for Payday UK and Payday Express as I have read that these two tend to be a bit more stubborn and thought that dealing with all 6 in one month might actually push me over the edge!!

Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has posted about their experiences with payday loans! You really have given me the push to get everything sorted which I am so grateful for!
Onwards and upwards for us all hopefully!! :)

  • Ok first things first, you either need to change your bank account or write to each of their head offices removing the continuous payment authority you will have given them when you took them out. If you don't, they can (and will) attempt to withdraw the money from your account directly and with little to no notice. Although they shouldn't do this at any other time than when you were expecting it to, payday loan companies are generally difficult to deal with and don't tend to play to the rules.

  • agreed, you need to change accounts to stop any sneaky payments being taken.

  • I've changed my bank account already and had my wages paid into my new account so there is no money left in the other one. So far wonga have been amazing and agreed to a payment plan straight away, and quickquid have said I need to get in touch with them by the live chat on their website to set up a plan. Yet to hear back from peachy and lending stream.
Emailed payday UK to get bank details to pay their rollover fee as I didn't want to give them my new card details, which they have given me. Payday express haven't replied yet but I am due to default tomorrow so no doubt I will hear from them then.
    So far so good!
