Benefits and Temporary employment?

Hi, We are currently on Income-based Job seekers allowance. My OH has been the main claimant but after a year of searching and job interview no one has taken him on. I recently applied to ASDA and have been offered a position of 37 hours per week however this is temporary seasonal staff. So they can get rid of me in January. I'm hopeful that they would want to keep me on, but there is a real possibility that they wouldn't.
I wonder if anyone can tell me what happens if ASDA do not keep me on after January? We will have to stop the Income-based jobseekers claim, alter Tax credits, stop Housing benefit and free school meals. IF I am unemployed again in January will this count against us in benefits? Is it easy enough to re-instate the claims? Or do we need to make all new ones? Would my Oh be able to sign up as main claimant again or would I need to since I was the last one employed?

I'm really grateful for the chance to work at ASDA and I will take the job regardless! I would just like to know what happens so I can prepare myself should the worst happen and I am unemployed again in January. Thank you.
