Anyone know anything about Orbit Housing??

just a question to see if anyone knew about Orbit Housing, Do you have to be on a council waiting list for housing or in council housing to apply for a a shared ownership house??
are you able to get a mortgage when your on a DMP??

I'd highly doubt that any company would give a new mortgage to someone on a DMP. In the event they did it would probably be at a crippling rate of interest.

Shared ownership does not normally require you to be on the housing list but some schemes are for key workers only. You'd probably be best contacting Orbit direct to discuss there procedures.

Actually for a lot of the shared ownership schemes you do need to be on the housing registers. Some HA run their own lists in addition to the general ones helpd by your LA ( council),, it always pays to be on as many lists as you can because usually a small % of the propertys that come up will be allocated to the HA's own list not through the general one.
As for the mortgage when you are on a DMP, if you are with the CCCS, they have an agency that you can go through who will be able to tell you for certain whether you can get one or not, payplan prob. have something similar.
Have you been for some proper housing advice to see what all your options are ?
