How do i find out is a cs case has been opened?

Hi all,

How would i find out if a case has been opened against me?

Can i telephone them give my NI number and they would be able to tell me?

Or do i need to just wait several weeks to see if they do get in touch?

Cheers

Phone them up, and enter your NI number. When you get through to a caseworker they can see if there is anything on the system.

    Many Thanks

Not sure what details my ex has on my address/NI number.

Quite probably she has both but if she does not can they pull the details from the csa1 case that will of recently closed or will the csa have to dig round for the info if that makes sense...

The point Im getting at really is how long it will take for me to hear from them so i can start paying-my kids wont speak to me now im not paying and im hoping when the case reopens it will appease the situation a bit.
  • If she's got your rough age and rough address then they will be able to find your details quite easily - especially if there has previously been a case open.

Is it worth you phoning to open a case yourself?

Once an application is received they aim to contact the NRP within a couple of weeks.
