Ramit Sethi (US money guru) - worth listening to?

Author of bestseller "I will teach you to be rich" this chap claims to be helping Americans save money and earn more. Often his philosophy is not to try and save a few quid a day by giving up fancy coffees (he knows how weak we are) but instead look at creating a second income of hundreds of pounds/dollars a month.
I wish I knew how many of his techniques would work in the UK as well as the US. All the emails I've read from him have seemed very sensible advice.
I wish I had proof he was 'for real' as I'm too scared to pay money for his (apparently amazing) online courses - it could all be a scam despite 100% money back guarantees.
Most of all, I wish his new iPhone app had a UK version which wasnt tied to a device I can't afford! This app gives you word-for-word scripts on what to say to negotiate down your bills whenever you call a credit-card company, service provider, etc. I am awful at haggling/begging, and even worse at getting cross with a company that's give me bad service. Other people seem to just ask...and receive! I actually get hot with embarrassment when I try asking for a discount.
Has anyone here had dealings with Ramit? I'd love to know what Martin thinks of his appoach....

Never tried his work myself, but here's an opinion of one of my favourite money bloggers (whose site and advice is free
):

I've had a glimps through his course, he gives good advice and I think the scripts are in the course also.
One thing I do know is he sticks by his guarantee and won't disappear so it's worth a try and is definitely not as scam, it's just down to whether you find the information useful or not based on your current knowledge.0 -
