OR interview done

Well today we had the OR interview and there we were thinking this is going to be long call (OR said around 40 mins each) and well 22 minutes later all done. I did most of the talking to him while my fianc! confirmed a few things but it was not what i expected.

So now he writes to all creditors and all I can say is roll on 12 month or 50 weeks 6 day (not that I'm counting)

Just a question, our mobile phones which we are a) behind on b) going to be cutoff in next few weeks and are on Bankrupty firm I take it theses get wiped and contract ended?

I feel so much better now the OR call has been done time to look forward to a new chapter in life

Well done to you both now you can relax and look forward to no more nasty phone calls and letters and a fresh start to you both. The build up to BR is awful and emotions go up and down. I have 15 weeks to go before AD ( I am defo counting!!).

I am sorry I dont fully know answer re your phones but am sure someone wiser than I will be able to answer that for you on this board.

    All the best

The contracts you originally signed for your phones pre-BR becomes null and void once BR. If you are up to date with your payments and you can afford to continue paying many companies are happy to let you do so, after all it's money in the pocket for them. If you are behind on payments they are likely to end the deal though.
I've never heard of a company wanting the phones back so it is more than possible to just pop a payg sim inside the phone and use that, saves you loads of dosh too.

    Thanks

The call started by confirming if I got advice before I went bankrupt. Then asked if I was employed or unemployed (as unemployed) when I became unemployed. What my earning where when I was in my job. As my fianc! is a stay at home mum when she became a stay at home mum and what her last job was.

Continued on to when i stopped paying my creditors, and when I stopped using my credit cards. Confirmed details on old address I put down and when I purchased my current house and morgtage amounts. As in negitive eq he advised if I wanted to stay in house and they would look again at house in 2 years and if worth anything will force sale but that would take another year as family home

Finally said what I used cc for to build up debt and then said will write to all creditors and that in 12 months time we will be discharged

I know each person will be different but I think cause our debts stemmed back 12 years it not like all incurred in last years no alarm bells rang for the OR

Just have to advise if I get a job or get lots of money. Thought I was going to be grilled over debts but oh well was not as bad as I thought
