I have just booked this for me, my boys and my parents. we had nothing to do on Tuesday so for a penny plus petrol, we're going to France for the day. And best thing for the boys, they get to go on a pirate ship! (they are young, I will take a flag and get someone to go Garrr!)

    Thanks so much!!

Just wanted to say massive thanks for this. We went yesterday and had a great time. Nice boat, left on time and no hidden extras. An absolute bargain. I even managed to pick up all the christmas booze. 24 bottles of beer for 8 euros. nice. Thanks again. x

More huge thanks to Sarah1972 for this. :)

We went yesterday (using M20/A20 so missing the Dover problem crystal9 mentioned) and drove to Boulogne - shopping at the E. Leclerc supermarket.

The ships are the Berlioz and Rodin ferries perviously operated by Seafrance before they had to stop because of illegal subsidies from the French Government. I believe there is funding from Eurotunnel.

We normally use Eurotunnel these days. We wouldn't have gone without this offer and are glad we did. Plenty of space on the ships in spite of the offer. I noted they had a wifi area on Deck 7 but I didn't dare switch on my phone just in case.

It's some years since we went through Dover and Calais and we were impressed that the handling facilities have improved no end. Immigration and 'security' take place before checking in meaning that you drive off the ships on arrival without much delay. Thank you, Eurotunnel, for this enhancement! ;)

The point is this. We sampled the service and would have no hesitation in considering a revenue passage in future, so MFL's promotion probably worked in our case.

@ roger-the m20 wouldn't have been to good for us really as we live near broadstairs area so we went through deal. we got to check in with 8 mins to spare  so very lucky.

can i ask you as it looks like you go quite often do you know a supermarket/shop called auchamp? think thats the correct spelling as we only found the eroupe city which was near calais on the way back from Boulogne :D

    Yes, it's Auchan. :)

Your spelling is similar to how the founder started the company! More info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auchan
