insulin resistant and loosing weight

Just been diagnosed and told i need to lose weight ......2 stone. Ive just been left to it by the hospital. im thinking a low carb type of diet. Can anyone help me ?
My body can't pror 30 miocess sugar and turns it to fat. I now know why I have never been able to loose weight, I've just got to do it now I know.
I am also planning to walk every day for 30 minutes

    Low carb is the way to go , there is a low carb thread on here somewhere . Husband is diabetic , cutting carbs to a very very low amount has lost him loads of weight and got his blood sugars down . Once you get into it its not difficult to stick to plus we have found it has made us feel so much better .

    Agreed. Try the Atkins diet - it will completely stabilise your blood sugar, and there are other health benefits.
