How to remove CCJ from credit report? How long?

Hello,
I just tried to rent a house but I failed due to having a CCJ that I was aware of.
I got my credit report today and paid it off tonight. How long or how do I remove this from my credit report? Obviously the debt is still showing on my account but need it removed ASAP for the flat house rental.
Any suggestions from anyone who's been through this would be a great help. Thanks

How long ago was the CCJ granted?
If more than one calendar month ago, then paying it will not remove it from your credit report. It will stay for 6 years.
If less than one month ago then you can get it removed.

It was over 4years ago. So even though I've paid it of this will mean that it will effect my credit for another 2 years?0
