Special K free sample bag

I had a small bag put through my letter box today from kellogs. The deal is that if I put my house number on the bag and leave it out tommorrow I'll receive a free box of Special K and a packet of Biscuit Moments.
Has anyone else received one of these bags and did you receive anything? Seems a strange way of offering a freebie; isn't leaving these bags out advertising to burglars that you're not at home?

I had something like this from Thorntons a while back, received them the next day just fine.
Although it did fit through the letterbox so not an issue re security.0 -
We had this last week. Got a full size box of cereal and a box of biscuits. The biscuits were very sweet. It's very safe where I live and they seem to be doing the whole town bit by bit:DEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0

Thanks for the prompt replies. I don't live in crime central but was curious about the method of distribution having never come across anything quite like it.0

Gosh thats an odd thing to do- wouldn't they be concerned about things blowing away in the all-too-British weather and then being fined for creating litter? Hope it works out for you!0

A good few months / year ago, we had Kelloggs All Bran clusters (or whatever they're called) left in a bag, that came with the local paper. It said leave the bag out and they'd leave a sample. We did, and they left a full size box of cereal! Very nice it was too, although they are a bit too pricey for my blood. We're in Surrey / Hampshire borders.
Haven't seen the latest one though ... but, I'd say go for it!I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?0 -
