jazzing up an application form

Hello,
I have recently filled in a lot of application forms, some of which I have had no reply from but a few I have received interviews for. I have been led to believe that the reason for some of these rejections were due to a reference from a not so nice ex employer.
However, that issue aside, I am currently filling in an application form and have been thinking how boring it is! So i figured if im bored writing it, then the recipient must be bored reading it as they must see so many applications.
So, I know what to write and how to sell myself and tackle the questions, etc. But I wondered if anyone has any tips on jazzing it up, and making it stand out from all the others rather than another run of the mill application. The job is for a nursery nurse position.

You could attach pictures of your kids or something? I included a picture of my vegetable patch and got a job in a garden centre

You would however need to consider data protection if you did that.
I like to personalise my applications and often get interviews as a result. Another example I used was after watching Louis Theroux Autism programme, I applied to an autism charity shop and although I didn't have any experience with autism I talked about how the programme had made me realise how difficult it can be etc and I got an interview with them too (didn't go as had garden centre job by that point).
So I like to think outside the box rather than going 'committed, hard working, eager, organised' etc.0 -
Ooh yes, good ideas. I read once about someone getting their child to write a letter about why my mummy's the best. My sons only 2 1/2 though so i think that's a bit ambitious! I've got the experience needed so i can talk about that but to make it mire exciting hmmm... Ive filled in so many applications I honestly just feel like scrawling GIVE ME THE BLOODY JOB!! Across the page, but somehow don't tk that would have the desired affect!0
