Currys Finance

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone has bought items from Currys on their finance deals whilst they were unemployed. Im looking to buy a new tv but you can only get the finance instore and I don't want to go all the way there to be told no as I think it would be quite embarrassing.

I have a decent credit rating as far as I'm aware. I opened a littlewoods account and they gave me £750 credit if that makes any difference at all :p

Advice - save up - do not pay ridiculous APR to the likes of Currys.

Surely entering into a finance agreement, whilst unemployed, at really high APR (you did check didn't you?) is a bad idea...
  • I would be taking the currys 10. which is just a 10% deposit then 10 payments, for example £40 deposit then 10 payments of £40. I think it would be good to have something like this for my credit rating.

I wish I was unemployed and able to buy a new TV :o

    Unfortunately I work so I can't afford one :(

WHY would you want to get finance for anything when unemployed ?

Can't afford one? I thought you just stuck a 32" Samsung in your kitchen??

I live with my parents so my only bills are my phone and pet insurance.

I was only asking if someone had been able to get the finance while unemployed, if you can't help with my query then don't bother replying. :T

Whoops caught out :rotfl: I paid cash for it though, £265 at present from Amazon delivered :T

You are lucky to have such understanding parents ;) do you not need to pay housekeeping ?

As for Currys and finance I doubt they would be so silly as not to do a financial check on you, and since you have no income I really can't see you getting finance.

I hope this has proved a bit more helpful.

Well if I could afford cash I would buy a tv with it :p
No housekeeping, I do keep the electric topped up though.

I've had the currys finance previously when I was working. Bought a laptop then got made redundant after I'd made my 1st payment but I still managed to pay it off in the 10 months. I got a new phone contract ok even though I'm unemployed.

    Yes thank you :D

    And the APR is?

Depends what option you take. I would like to get the simply 10 as I've had it before. You pay 10% deposit, the 10 payments of the same amount.

At the bottom of the example table the APR is 26.3%
