Monthly Wage amount.

Hi all!
My daughter has just started a part time job today but I just cant work out how her wages work.
She is working in a term time only nursery doing 26.5hrs per week at £6.25 per hour. She is contracted up until the end of June 2013.
They have said she will get £530 per month without including deductions as this is to cover holidays....but she doesnt get paid over the holidays according to everyone else who works there. She did query the amount but they just said it was right.
Can anyone work this out?
Thanks in advance!!

This site has a salary calculator that you can use

    http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/hourly.php
  • OP what are you saying is they have worked out the salary pro rata for the term of the contract and as she is only working term time there are some days/weeks where she wont be working but will gat paid, yes?

I am sure I will not explain this very well but they are going to pay her monthly even though some of the days/weeks in the month may not be worked?

As long as at the end of the term she has been paid for all the hours worked at the rate she was meant to and been paid for the pro rata holidays I am sure that is correct.

Someone else may be able to explain in better detail.

I wrote a long post last night but it didn't post grrr. It sounds right, everyone gets paid holiday, pro - rata of 5.6 weeks a year (?) so she'll get term time say 38 weeks x 26.5 hrs x £6.5 + holiday pay / 12 months. People mean she isn't paid for her 14 weeks a year off but will get around 4 weeks holiday pay added on before diving the pay over the year.
