We have had our mortgages with Nationwide for a number of years and do most of our business online or on the phone, have never been asked to go for any 'meeting' and never been badgered to buy any products with them. Sounds like the advisor is trying it on to me.....

If the firm continues to be nasty about trying to get extra profit out of you you have the option of going elsewhere to get the same mortgage. That'll cost them their commission on the mortgage sale as well as the money they won't make on selling optional add-ons.

thanks all, spoke to managers etc yesterday all apologised for his behaviour and mentioned its not nationwide intention to badger people.... i insisted that they go back and advise this mortgage adviser...... i have had a quiet day and did not want to talk to the mortgage guy again so hope the managers got the message home

Thanks for all the helpful comments!!!

He shouldn't have been causing you problems in the first place.

Glad it's all sorted for you now

I'd have liked to see him put it in writing though :rotfl:
