Success claiming back mortgage exit fee from Abbey

Amount claimed: unknown, as I didn't have a copy of my original mortgage contract.
Amount received: £130 (difference between what must have been on the original contract and what they levied on closure two years later)
Process followed: Used version of Martin's template letter. Received a form to complete from Abbey. Sent it in. They paid up. Easiest £130 I've ever made. Advise everyone else eligible to follow suit: stick it to 'em; greedy trough scoffers at Abbey.
P.S. some flunky in Abbey's Spanish ceo's office had the gall to write to me telling me not to write to him again after I made a final direct appeal for common sense to prevail over a previous dispute on bank charges. Result: I complained to the FSA and they paid up. What a waste of (Abbey) shareholders' money all this must have been.
