Should I try again?

Options
Hi,
Pretty much my 1st thread although I have been reading up on here!
I am trying to obtain a loan of £10500 in order to consolidate a few cards and a loan etc.
I usually have no problem at all with applications and last year I had a mortgage agreed (although not taken up) with Northern Rock for £180k.
I moved house in August last year (rented) and around 3 months later I applied for a loan with a couple of lenders including Northern Rock.
These 2 applications were declined and I then realised that the main reason is that I was not on the Electoral Role.
I have just been added to the Electoral Role and I wonder what my chances will be of getting the loan I need?

Is it wise to try NR again? Do you have any recommendations on who I may want to try?

Your help would be greatly received!

Best wishes,

Alan

Often banks will not allow a loan application for 3 months after you last applied, but seeing as you applied in August, you might now have some luck :) I know when I first lived away from home and wasn't on the electoral roll, proving my identity seemed t be a nightmare!

You should get yourself over to the debt free wannabe board and look for ways to cut back on your outgoings rather than consolidating so you have more free cash to throw at your cc. Consolidating can be a vicious circle if you do it, then rack up your credit cards again and you're in a worse position than when you started! Write a Statement of Affairs (SOA) which includes your monthly incomings and all you monthly outgoings - bills, debts, shopping, petrol, going out, MOT etc etc. Out on the DFW and you'll get loads of advice. Good Luck
