colgate professional weekly clean - does it still exist?

I used to buy a colgate toothpaste that was marketed as getting your teeth as clean as the dentist can. It was in a tiny tube and only needed used once a week alongside your usual cleaning regime then it disappeared from the shelves.
Does anyone know if it is still available and where from, if not has anyone found a good replacement for it?

If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!

It was withdrawn from the Uk.
Floss ,use tepes and brush well and there is no need for such products which are massively abrasive and will not only strip off stain but also enamel if used on a regular basis. The abrasive index on these types of products are vastly in excess of what's advised to keep enamel in good condition.0 -
ok, thanks for the reply. I really liked it and my teeth always felt amazing after using it. Do you know why it was withdrawn? If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Because it was massively abrasive, and bad for the teeth..
The problem with 'the general public' is that even if you say just use something once a week, there will be those who think 'Wow -this is really good' and use it every day.
For this reason, yo have to be very careful what you let them buy!!
Used very infrequently, it might not have been too bad - but it wasn't a risk Colgate were prepared to take, and so they withdrew it.
Makes you wonder why it got as far as it did without somebody in the company realising it, but then companies do make mistakes sometimes. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I was one of those who used it at least three times a week :eek:0

I used to use it and liked it . Wondered where it had gone . Amazing how it got on the shelves if it was so abrasive . Every day we see ads telling us to use such and such product for whiteness , another for sensitive teeth , another for thinning enamel , receding gums etc . Too much confusing choice !0

What a shame. I love this stuff! I only use it about once a month so have a little bit left.
My gums are in really good nick and my dentist always complements me on my oral hygiene so he doesn't think I need to pay for a hygienist. But, I do have 'furry' patches on a few teeth. My dentist used to give me a quick clean as part of my check-up which would get rid of them, but he says this isn't part of the NHS check-up anymore. So, this toothpaste used to fill the gap as it were.0
