You could create a folder for each playlist then drag and drop on to the player.

It's a pain as they might not go in the folder in the right order so you have to rename them with numbers in front, that's how i've got mine.

Hopefully someone will know an easier way.

Where sound quality is not a huge issue (for example with language learning), I would recommend ignoring the big brands and just getting a simple "no brand" MP3 player from a supermarket.

    Example: http://www.tesco.com/direct/technika-4gb-mp-211eb-mp3-player-black/213-3195.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=213-3195

Even if you end up buying better headphones, the potential savings are well worthwhile.

All players can be made to work with iTunes or Windows Media Player, certainly if the content originates with your own CDs.

A free music manager called Media Monkey has the capability to rename your music files in a variety of formats automatically. This can make preparing files/folders for download to a player a matter of just a few clicks.

It seems there is a problem with the firmware for SanDisk which can be fixed - I have a link to it but can't see how to update it?

Thanks for all the help. I emailed SanDisk who relied very promptly - on Boxing Day :T. I needed to convert to mtp mode, then it worked :)

Memory card received and now synching to it - here's hoping it works again, I feel it is as it's taking yonks to synch, as it did when I got it synch on Boxing Day.

Very pleased with it and speakers so thanks for all the advice :).
