I mean a rape victim probably spends more effort in resisting than in complying (something which is easy to do) doesn't mean they should just comply.
And yes of course I know that is an extreme example, not comparable etc. but my point is the individual has the right not to agree to give out this information if they don't want to, and I can see lots of reasons why they wouldn't just go with the flow.
You used not only an extreme example but something which does not equate at all. Rape is not lawful, telling the truth (that someone who has given the WP provider details of employment is actually employed) is most definitely lawful.0 -

I agree with you.
For the record, i never gave the WP provider any employment details. In fact I never even signed the consent forms.0 -
Ok if you never signed any consent form they have not business contacting your employer and they are not allowed to do so.DesertIsland wrote: »I agree with you.

I would tell the employer you have not given consent & maybe contact the work programme people to ask where they got the info and then lodge a complint to their head office.0 -

If you didn't sign the consent forms, the provider has no right to contact your employer. You should write to the information officer of the WP provider and make an official complaint, before possibly escalating it to the Information Commissioner if that fails.
If you have inadvertently signed the consent forms, you should write to the WP provider and withdraw your consent.0 -

Thanks for that. It's true I never signed the consent forms and at the time I had a fight with a couple of people at the WP provider over that.
I'll tell my employer to let me know if the provider gets in contact with them.0 -
I thought you said they had already?DesertIsland wrote: »Thanks for that. It's true I never signed the consent forms and at the time I had a fight with a couple of people at the WP provider over that.

hey just to let every one know the hassles with my work programme...in one week this week monday they rang me 6 hr job available. interview was tuesday.. i did not go as 6 hrs is no good for me (my mistake i know). interview was 12 noon .a lady rung me3pm same day to say she was sending my info to dhss as non comlience with interview not turning up i told her it was for 6hrs a week she said no it was for full time. no ifs or buts she was not going to rearrange interview for next day as she give me one chance and that was that....after she rung off i contacted the employer i got an interview for next day went to it was told by employer job was indeed for 6hrs so low and behold the info i had was right.i went into see my client adviser on friday and he knew nothing about interview or any thing like that..he got the lady who arranged the interview and sent my info to dhss for non compliance to sit in (i thought they had to wait 5 days to report non compliance after they had seen me face to face and got my side off the story. she did it in 3 hrs) and she went off on one, i was told that it was up to the work programme to let the dhss know if i missed an interview..she did not have to tell me she was doing this as it was none off my buisness!! my client adviser sat there and said nothing..she told me i had rung the employer twice the next day wednesday..(she should not off known that and back tracked on that)the only way she would off known is if the employer rang her or she rang them..i asked to see a copy off the agreement i signed when i started and was told i did not need to see it!! employer had my cv encluding all info which i know i did not consent to as i usually bring one along to interview..oh my cv had some one elses info attached to back off it.i usually get on well with my client adviser but this week every thing has changed because off a lady i have never met and do not know..i thought they were there to help us get employment.my confidence off going to them has gone down to an all time low .i really did think they were helpful until this week...can i ask for all the data they have on me or will they say no to this..a bit lost thanks in advance..0

You can write a letter to the centre manager and hand it to them on your next appointment to revoke the permission to forward your details. Keep a copy for yourself and make sure you give them a good few weeks notice. I would also give the adviser a copy too.0
