Better off quitting work and studying FT?

How do I find out??

Based on a very brief encounter with the benefits calculator, I have worked out our family might actually be better off if I quit work and pursued my dream of getting a degree and qualifying as a teacher.

Surely this cant be right?

Is there a good helpline that could give me the hard cold facts?

Also anyon ehave any idea how this new universal credit thingy would impact on my circumstances?

  • It's a bit of a mess I'm afraid, benefits calculators don't help much with students as they don't seem to classify student income.

You really need to find out how much loan and grant income student finance would pay you, and also talk to the various agencies regarding benefits.

Also, if I remember correctly, student finance base some of your award on your last year's P60, you'd have to check for your own circumstances.

This is a good idea of course . Pursuing your dream satisfy what you really acquire in your life . And I can say , being a teacher have many benefits specially when you work for the government.
