I'd put them on ebay and cash in. The CC company will write the payment off to fraud.
Think of it as compensation for the inconvinience

I would have said thats as bad as fraud.

Wait for Woolies to do something, am sure they will arrange with the OP to pick them up.

I guess that Woolies will be able to tell the police the address that hte items were going to have gone to?

To the OP, please ignore any advice like this, unless you want to steal the goods as well. They currently belong to Woolies who should organise their collection from you. Only if they don't do this within a reasonable time and way to you, then, having advised Woolies what you will do, you can dispose of them.

So going off your advice he should still sell them anyway if Woolworths don't get in touch?

I think by contacting Woolworths they are more than aware of him having the items.

Yes, having advised them of the timescale and the consequences of non-collection.

I also found an email message from Woolworths after I logged in that questioned why the card number and address did not match.

one might argue Woolies were just negligent.

Give them the opportunity to collect at a time suitable to yourself.

Irn bru:You see the problem I have there, and this has happened to me, is why should the OP go round sorting out someone elses mistake.
Its unfortunate enough to fall victim of identity fraud, and he has been in touch with the vendor, but they don't seem bothered he has the items. So why ring them, attempt to sort it out, wait for a collection when he could make a tidy profit.

If they can't be bothered sorting it out then why should he?

Yeah if the goods werent collected after a reasonable time he could do something but if I were in that position I certainly wouldnt be selling them on

I'd personally drop them an e-mail confirming that the items were unsolicited, and that you will keep the items unless they are collected by *** date.

They may not have collected on the basis that they are in discussions with the credit card company.
  • iv worked for woolworths.

You might be one of the lucky few , who Woolworths actually right the stuff off for (i.e let you keep them)

I saw this happen on two occasions in 3 years , but it can happen!

I contacted Woolworths the day after receiving the items. They changed the password on the account and gave me the new one. They are aware I have the items, but they did not mention having them collected. Admitedly I did not ask them to collect them either!

I will most likely hold on to the goods until the credit card balance is written off, assuming Woolworths do not ask for them back before hand. Once I am happy the matter is closed I will contact Woolworths and give them seven days to collect the items or I will dispose of them (uhum).

    What do you think?

    Thanks again
