    I want to know what to do about claiming for my petrol money back i am a carer workin in the comunity.I have been told i will get some thing for so much a mile I have been doing this for 2 years 3 months and not claimed a penny back.We dont get a alowence from work so who do i contack and what to do thanks sandi

    I think if your normal job is travelling from client to client then home to office mileage is classsed as private miles. You could only ask for a tax refund on job expenses if you go in to a base as your place of work then out to your clients. I should try the helpline they might know more.
