Paying 2 lots of life insurance

Hello,

When I made a claim on my house insurance about six years ago the broker told me I needed to take out more life insurance. I can't remember why and clearly I was stupid enough to just do it. A friend told me that it was bad advice and is not necessary. Can anyone help to clarify? If I am paying for one of them unnecessarily is there any way I can claim the money back do you know? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

A friend told me that it was bad advice and is not necessary.

How was it bad advice? Unless we know what you or your friend thinks it is unnecessary, we cant comment.

Personally, I have three life assurance policies. I set up 4 policies for a couple recently. You can have as many as you like and most people have multiple needs covering multiple terms and therefore need multiple policies.

Why is life insurance stupid? I'm getting increasing annoyed with all these adverts and people on TV telling people their insurance is refundable and its wrong to have.

Do you have a husband or children? if so I assume you dont want them looked after when you're gone.

How the hell is anyone supposed to comment given the lack of information?
