Signing off Jobseekers

Hi guys, just wanted to ask a few questions about signing off.
Firstly, I've been claiming Jobseekers Allowance for over a year now and I've finally been offered a retail job. It's only 24 hours a week part-time, but I know I will have to sign off because it's over 16 hours a week. At the moment I'm not sure of my exact starting date. All I've been told so far is that I would receive information through the post about a paid induction day which will be taking place on next Saturday the 27th, so I'm assuming I should be starting my job not long after that, start of November.
However, I have my next sign-on this Monday the 22nd, and I was just wondering if I should let them know of my job offer on this day? And will they make me sign off there and then? Obviously I don't start my actual for a while yet, so do you think I should just wait until I've actually started the job and tell them after that on my next sign-on date? Also I think I would be entitled to a £100 back to work grant I believe?

Also kinda unrelated but still something I'm curious about: I'm still on the work programme for which I have an appointment with my new advisor on the 27th of October, do I still need to go to that? And a couple of weeks ago one of the consultants there told me that I would be entitled to do a short Accounting course at the local college which would be funded by the work programme but she never got back to me about it with more information. I really do want to try this course, and as my employment is only part-time, do you think I would still be entitled to this?

Thanks in advance, hope this all made sense. :)
