Neverending debt with Very.co.uk. Help!!

Hi folks,
Apologies not sure if i am posting in the right section. My friend owes very.co.uk around £2500 and with the interest rate of about 40% the amount seems to never really go down. They take a steep payment of £170+ per month, this was ok initially as she lived with her partner who worked but now she is living on her own, unemployed and cant afford these monthly repayments. Very.co.uk are saying they could reduce the monthly payment by £30 at most and that will just up the interest even more and they'd put her on a bad credit list. Very.co.uk took over from Littlewoods Direct who didnt charge any interest so she wasnt even aware there was interest at first. Any ideas or suggestions how to come to a solution on this situation? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Suggest for her to contact CCCS, maybe a DRO or something would enable her to tackle the problem
