What to do with trousers that are too short?

hi all I recently bought a pair of trousers from a charity shop and had them for a while. They are wide leg and a cotton material, I've just realised they are too short. How can I repurpose them.

Make them into 3/4 length or shorts?

Is there any hem on them that you could let down, and use tape as a hem?
  • Some suggestions:

If there is hem material, turn it down to make the trousers longer.

If there is enough spare material eg in the waistband at the back, (unlikely) make a pair of false turnups and stitch them on.

Wear them only tucked into boots, or into long socks/legwarmers

Stitch on some sort of patterned material to make some sort of jazzy- ethnicy- glittery cuffs like this: http://my.ebid.net/for-sale/kids-hippy-costume-49486084.htm

    Pretend they're capri pants

    Cut them off for shorts

If they are summery trousers you can add lace to the bottom, turn into 3/4 lengths or into long or short shorts.

If they are jeans, you can cover them with fashionable wool legwarmers which you can make out of old cable knit, christmas style or argyle type sweaters,

If they are dressy trousers you can probably find enough meterial to take down the hem.
