Waitrose is so cheap!!!!!

Options
My nearest supermarket is Waitrose, I don't do much shopping in there just odd bits.
But on Monday I went in there at 3pm (ish, which is one hour before close) & the reductions were FANTASTIC.

Quality french sticks reduced to 24p
Sliced sandwich ham from £2.69 to 30p & the use by date was Tueday!!!
Cooked chickens 99p
Most of the cakes from the bakery were about half price.
A fresh pizza reduced to £1.50.

I will try one hour before close more often:D

Sainsburys do the same near closing time.

Yeah the thing is the biggies are open so late now its hard to go in an hour before closing. Many of them are open 24's.
    But Waitrose keeps normal hours.
I only ever go shopping in normal hours.

Waitrose stuff is really nice as well, even better than Sainsbury. Nearly everything Waitrose sell is like Sainsburys "taste the difference". So its great to get it cheap.

Lol! Waitrose has always been very good with their reductions. I stocked up with nearly everything from the 10p bin before! Some things were reduced from over £12! I made a fair bit on ebay from those!!

Hi I dont often shop at waitrose as its not my nearest supermarket, but if i'm passing just before closing i often pop in as their bread is particulary nice and is often reduced from 1.69-1.99 doen to 10-19p, so i stock up.

Is anything worse than Sainsburys? Full of tasteless, insipid foods. Waitrose is much nearer M&S than Sainsburys/Tesco imo.

I wasn't comparing Waitrose to Sainsburys I KNOW Waitrose is similar to M&S.

But another poster said Sainsbury do the same reductions, I was just "gentily" pointing out that Waitrose is better than Sainsbury.
