student finance / loan nightmare

My son is going through this at the moment. Apparantely, there is a back-log AGAIN like there is every year - problems with obtaining confirmation of attendance from the universities.
His uni is hassling him to pay the accomodation and so he has to come home this weekend and get some bank statements to prove he hasn't got the money in his account.
Every year there seems to be an issue with student loans, but don't worry - it will all work out okay in the end.0 -

They were shocking when I was started uni (about ten years ago) and are not much better now. They are pretty effective at collecting their money though! (surprise, surprise!)
I too had to resort to a letter to my MP last year as SFE were refusing to give me my money as my circumstances didn't fit inside the standard 'box'. It nearly drove me to a breakdown but within a fortnight of my MP reciving my letter I had the top boss from SFE appologising prefusely and my two installments I was owed the next day.
I applied again this year and had no problems. Hope you get sorted soon OP.
