Lovefilm sending "unavailable" items

Our LoveFilm subscription is basically nearing the end, and we were planning to cancel this month. We're on the most expensive four disks at a time subscription. Eventually we were left with one DVD on our list, plus a large number reserved but "unavailable".

However, they've suddenly started sending us "unavailable" disks. E.g. we've just received the first then the second disk of "The Complete Ripping Yarns". I've just checked on LoveFilm, and they are still marked as "unavailable" and have a "Reserve" not a "Rent" button.

Our service also appears to be throttled at the moment, with very few disks being sent out and never more than two at once.

Does anyone know what's going on here? How are they able to send us "unavailable" disks?

What would happen if I downgraded to a cheaper option such as two disks at a time? Would they throttle us even more?

a few years back we were in an online rental scheme or two and found lovefilm never sent us the movies at the top of the list. Eventually we had seen everything we wanted to see and struggled to find the minimum of 10 on our list, when you add the latest releases you still didn't get them and if you only had 2 or 3 choices there would be a long wait before getting any.

I would suggest you leave and rejoin or join another company (I thought blockbuster was better personally) when you have a backlog of stuff to watch. HTH

My plan is to quit LoveFilm and join NetFlix for a while. But, there are a lot of DVDs on my list marked as "unavailable", many of which I'd really like to see. Hence I'd like to know what's going on, and whether I'm likely to continue receiving "Unavailable" disks if I let my subscription roll over to another month.

There is a dispute between Lovefilm and one of the film studios.

Either the films are not available or there is a two month delay, and you can't always reserve them.

If you wouldn't mind sharing some of the titles maybe we can figure it out?

The Complete Ripping Yarns comes us as "reserve" for me.

Last week Alphas season one didn't have a reserve or rent button on the search results, but on the title page I could rent.

I know they have been having some IT screw-ups lately as well.
