Pet shelters will often accept larger soft toys. They make great cuddle-ups and surrogate MumsMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
I went into my local argos this morning with a bag of toys and was told that althought they could accept my toys they could no longer issue a voucher as this stopped yesterday. At the time i didnt think much of it and took a christmas gift guide home, in this was an advert for the toy exchange where it stated you could donate toys until the 27th november and no mention of still donating toys but no longer issuing vouchers so i made a trip back to the argos store. I spoke to another girl and she asked the manager who checked what i was saying in the xmas book and then had no choice but to issue me with my £5.00 voucher! He explained that they had a phone call yesterday and were told no longer to give out vouchers and to take down all the posters advertising this,.....but what about all the christmas gift guides?! Argue your case before they print new books and change the terms!!!0

Our local church is connected to the women's refuge. We've given them many items. They also collect wrapped children's Christmas presents to deliver to them as well. Perhaps a church in your area could pass them on?0 -
If this is the case they need to update their website (see question 5) http://www.argos.co.uk/wcsstore/argos/en_GB/images/toyexchange/images/Argos-FAQs.pdfkatycarey1186 wrote: »I went into my local argos this morning with a bag of toys and was told that althought they could accept my toys they could no longer issue a voucher as this stopped yesterday. Hi all, i asked my manager today if we were still to give out the £5 voucher for the toy donations and he said yes. We give them out until the end of the promo at the end of november.
I told him about your case where you were told they were no longer issuing vouchers and he said this is completely incorrect and that you should have been given a voucher. He said it was very odd that they told you that!:coffee:0 -
Don't know how I've managed to miss this!! I've just been sorting through the childrens toys, to make space for christmas, and it was all going to a charity shop. Think it's a great idea if we can save a little money while helping charity too.
Please, pretty please!:D0 -
I have some toys to donate but don't need the £5 voucher , so when I do manage to go in with them if the promotion is still running I will offer them on here if I am allowed???
Will try & do a few trips anyway & glad they are going to a good cause , might give one voucher to my DD if it helps her out but I can't afford £30 on toys at the moment so am only buying bits and pieces for the kids now but have pretty much finished buying for the kids this year now & just have to concentrate on the adults , then food , then finished!
( There should be a 'fainting' logo! lol ) xx 0 -
Will take some toys in that are no longer needed, I do not need a argos voucher, Hopefully they will bring joy to someone else that needs them more.0

Woweee...we do get some weird arguments on this website!
1. A great posting by the OP.
2. A great initiative by Argos/Barnardos.
3. A great opportunity for anyone spending £35 on Xmas toys to save a fiver.
The usual MSE warning applies - make sure you can't buy cheaper elsewhere. But, nevertheless, ...
4. A great opportunity to clear out the old and make space for the new whilst joining in the Xmas spirit of donating to charity.
Well done everyone - except the Bah Humbug brigade!0
