I'm very sorry for this. The article should read 'minimum spend £35, rather than £5'. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Just posted by Argos on facebook...

Also says '£5 per donation not per toy'.

However your 'donation' could be only one toy, from the link above it doesn't specify 2 toys = 1 donation etc. Thats the other T&C's I was looking for unless more comes out on the offical website (which isn't working now) - http://www.argos.co.uk/toyexchange
  • Its for a bag of toys not per toy!
    says so on the website
  • How donated bags of unwanted toys can help Barnardo's:
    • One bag could pay for a mobile phone top-up to enable a young carer to keep in touch with their parent, whilst at school, which could help lessen their anxiety
    • Two bags could pay for a taxi fare for a young carer in a rural area to be able to access a youth group or young carer's group
    • Four bags could pay to keep Barnardo's free helpline running for two weeks
    • Five bags could pay for five sessions for an activity of a young carer's choice, allowing them to pursue a personal interest, develop skills and have a break from their caring responsibilities
    • Ten bags could cover the cost of running two drop-in centres for a month

Well on the tv advertisement they weren't donating a bag of toys. Well not the one I saw anyway.
They should really make this clearer, and if the ad's are already on TV then the link on their website should go live on the Tuesday night!

I think they are just pointing out what the toys 'could' do. If you watch the comercial the aliens empty a box of junk and get nothing. The children bring in one teddy and one truck. However on the bottom of the advert it does state about the £35 min spends.

Just been asked on facebook, here is the link if anyone wants to keep an eye. You can also view the comercial there. I also know Argos has a twitter account.

I will update the first post as and when I can get the link to work/next to a computer however I am working most/all of tommorrow. If I update the first post all the info will be in the same place.

You do have to spend over £35 to use the voucher. Here's what it is saying on the Facebook site: From tomorrow bring in your unwanted toys and we’ll donate them to Barnardo’s to help transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children, and we’ll give you £5 off your next toy purchase over £35.
