Misleading Skylanders Giants pre-order Tesco instore.

Last weekend my wife and son returned from the regular shop at Tesco and told me they had preordered Skylanders Giants. They said it was £5 and I said that must be just a deposit but their receipt has no other details on it apart from it saying "Skylanders PS3"... they didn't get anything else to say what they had bought or what the terms and conditions are. I was in there yesterday and saw the shelf talkers and it just says P/Skylanders Giants Starter Pack PS3 £5... then there are display boxes above to take to the till. On the back of that it explains it's a pre-order which is fine but there is absolutely no indication anywhere of what the instore price will be so I asked at customer services what happens if I'm not happy with the price when it's released... can I get my deposit back? The lady I spoke to didn't know for sure neither did the person she called to ask about it. She said I could cancel it before the release date if I wanted but once it was released she thought it might be a problem because the barcode would no longer be active.

I'm pretty sure that Tesco can't hold you to keeping a deposit if you don't know how much the item is going to be. Also the way they have displayed it does give the impression that it's £5 - I know it's not but I think there is an element (no pun Skylanders fans) of misleading the shopper.


Any thoughts on this?
