camera for 8 year old

My son really wants a camera, he is going to ask father Christmas for one.
I want to get him a decent one, he uses ours very well and loves taking pictures actually he takes better pictures than me. But he is also an 8 year old boy so don't want to spend the earth, as he may lose it or drop it etc.
Can anyone recommend a good one that might be suitable.
Thankyou

I assume you refer to compact camera?
Any budget?0 -
yes compact camera, no more than about £100 really,
 thanks0 -
By looking at spec, samsung MV800 seems a good buy at £100 (argos/ pcworld/ dixons). But I wonder if it is too technical for 8 years old.0
