my journey to become a yummy mummy

My old diary under my old username has floundered and needs jazzing up a bit. The main reason behind this is because my life has changed an awful lot during the previous few months.
Firstly, I finally moved in with my OH. It took a while for me to do this because I enjoyed living on my own a tad too much. Don't get me wrong - I do enjoy living in sin but part of me yearns for the days when I stayed in my PJs all day, didn't bother to brush my hair and ordered incredibly unhealthy food for tea. The remote control was mine and mine alone and I didn't give two hoots about leaving the washing-up until the following day.
Those days will never return as I am now pregnant. To say that this was a surprise is an understatement! We do want the little 'un but we thought that it would take a year or so to happen and not on the first try. We are very excited but I will feel happier and more confident once I have had the first scan and can see for myself that I have a teeny tiny little un growing and developing healthy inside my internal incubator. Right now, my little lentil is making its presence known as I am uber tired all of the time, constantly need to pee and am feeling bloated.
Anyway, the purpose of my diary is to save as much money as I can. I do have a secret bank loan which I am steadily paying off. I was in a position to overpay but that plan has gone onto the back burner as I need to put away as much as I can for when I am on maternity. I will get maternity pay but it is peanuts so the more I can save, the better.
My current goal is to have £1000 saved before the end of the year. I will do my internet banking in a min and see how much I currently have. It isn't much but it is a start.
I also need to learn how to be a yummy mummy. I may work with children but I get to hand them back at the end of the day. The bits involving crying, nappies, projectile vomitting are completely alien to me!

Hi!
I worked with Children prior to being a mummy and it mostly comes naturally! It helped that I worked with the under 5s! Nappies are easy once you know how and dnt worry not all babies projectile vomit
Good Luck with your savings! My advice would be when buying for your little one you can get bargain equipment/clothes next to nothing on ebay/preloved/facebook! I could have got a fantastic travel system for less than I payed for my full price one! If only I knew!
Hope I helped

Now, I work with the much older ones! We are not getting anything baby related until we are far gone. I just don't want to tempt anything. Will defo go down the ebay route as they grow so fast. 0
