Removing Pet odours in home

Thank you everyone ... The new carpets don't smell just yet but my mum commented when we had the old ones and was just wondering what everyone else did.
We have said we are going to invest in a carpet cleaner so I can do it every few months - I will be cost sharing with my mum though.
I will try the bi-carb and the spray bottles. My little dog is short haired and seems to be very sensitive. The big dog doesn't seem to be bothered by anything and the cat spends his days hiding near the radiatorsWill start giving the house a good air whilst I got out shopping ... no heat wasted then
Thanks once again!SW member: 09/01/2014

Oh - and a product used by many small animal owners (back when I was one myself) is Tap-A-Drop. It's a pet-safe deodouriser/room freshener. As the name suggests, you use a drop or two, it comes in various scents, and it helps neutralise odours too.

I know a few people would pop a drop or two on a hankie or bit of tissue that they tucked behind the radiator - so the product would get circulated by the heat/air flow.
Another product I saw recommended a lot was a Fresh Air Globe, though it's a little splurge initially and may not solve the issue of smelly carpets or soft furnishings, perhaps more suitable to tackling the whiff of pets in the air.0 -
