Missed out yesterday as I was busy all day, but got to WH smiths at 10.30 this morning to find the biggest queue that I have ever seen. It was stretching right to the back of a very long shop! Almost everyone in the queue has copies of the sun - some had multiple copies. Managed to get my Lego and put the newspaper straight into the nearest recycling bin!

The store opens at 8 am tomorrow, so I feel an eary morning start coming on!

Toys r Us in Exeter had a power mad person running the lego give away today! "NO one per customer" I felt so sorry for the lady that had 3 coupons for her grandchildren she didnt look at all like a trader, they gave her 3 yesterday but refused point blank today they said read the coupon with an attitude! She promply went out and got one of her grandchildren and her daughter to get the other 2 sets. Luckily my OH came with me so we managed to get the 2 for my nephews. But what I dont get is most people have more than 1 child why limit it to one if you have paid the money for the paper! They should limit it to 4 or something to be fair if you've bought 4 copies. The shop girl said to the lady "well if you had bought 3 children with you then you could have them" like she was some criminal or something... but if like me she was putting them away for chirstmas thats a surprise ruiened! Grrr just makes me angy poor service in shops let alone a toy shop that is meant to be a happy place! Doesnt make me want to shop there with that attitude problem. Rant over!

Gosh, sounds like some places are being quite mean! We got boxloads of them in work and still had loads left over from yesterday. We were quite happy to give away extras if people asked politely! Thing is, the paper don't ask for them back anyway. I'm pretty sure we still have boxes from last time kicking around the stockroom. Sorry to the people getting horrible staff!

I haven't even tried to collect any Lego from Toys R us this time, as I know from the last promo they are very mean (would only let me have 1 set, even though I went in with 3 Kids). They are very jobs worthy in the store I visited and to be honest it really puts me off shopping in there. I now get the Lego from WHSmith and in the stores near me, I have never had any problems.

My OH went into WHSmith later in the afternoon to find that there were no papers left, he went to ask the member of staff if there was any Lego left as he would have to buy the paper somewhere else but she kindly just gave him the Lego! One very happy wee boy left the shop. What great customer service in our store!

Sad to hear some people are having trouble with mean staff! I was queuing in WHSmith with the paper, when a staff member asked if I was just after the lego. I said yes and he told me to put the paper back and handed me four sets! Lovely chap.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). • I really wanted to do this because I love Lego and it's obviously a good deal but I have major issues with The Sun. Even though it's only a week full of 50p's I just couldn't bring myself to give even that to a horrible, horrible newspaper.

If only the Independent ran deals like this!

I agree with you. I wanted to get some of the toys but seeing it's from the Sun, I can't even give 50p towards them (since you're paying for the newspaper) and it will go to them. It would have been better if they had done it with another newspaper. Do similar deals run with any other company?

Not that I've heard of :(

Would be great if they did though!
