Hi All,
Looking for a spot of inspiration.
I know what I don't want in a wedding venue-
No church
No hotels
No registry office
I've been looking for things like barns, farms, or even land and tipi/yurt hire for a humanist ceremony with the legalities covered elsewhere.
I live near Chesterfield, and wouldn't want to take guests any more than an hour away.
If anyone could suggest alternatives I've yet to think of?
Or suggest actual venues?
I've checked most of the wedding planning sites I think but am relatively nice at this stuff!
Budget wise, the cheaper the better!
Thanks

Whiston Manorial Barn
(Linky - not the best website in the world but gives you an idea of the space)
We had our reception there and it was fantastic. The girls who run it, Clare & Karen, are really amazing and did such a good job, and they'll work to your budget and don't force you to have a sit-down meal or a package or anything - we just had arrival drinks, pie & pea supper and a disco. So many of our guests commented on how lovely the barn is. The only downside is a lack of outdoor space.
If you want any more info or to see the wedding pictures then just let me know
Edit: Just checked and it looks like they can do ceremonies there too from next year0 -
Thank you for the suggestions
Roz_v yes I'd be interested in seeing some pics-you're right the we site doesn't give you much to go on!0 -

I got married in a pub....seriously.
Hubby and I both didn't want a church or hotel wedding and it was me who straight away said no to a registry wedding, our local one has a library next to it and a cinema across the road, just no, hahaha.
I found the pub, its the only one, well was last August, unless it has changed that is licensed for weddings.
I instantly had to check it out, it sounded so different. We fell in love with it, its in a tiny village, presented lovely and had won numerous awards for its food. We booked it straight away after viewing it.
This is one of my fav pics of me arriving:Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

We went to an evening do at Swancar Farm Country House on Saturday evening; it's a barn-type place with accommodation. It was a really amazing venue (though from the looks of it, not the cheapest!) and only half an hour from Chesterfield. The couple had the ceremony there as well.0

If you are not bothered about getting married on a Saturday then the Breadsall Priory in Derby is excellent value and absolutely beautiful.0
