My mum has a rotary line, no problems at all with it, but she does always bring it in when not in use.
We have one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/portable-clothes-dryer-617886 basically a dri-buddy but cheaper! We have had one of the seams come apart, but nothing some duct tape didn't fix! Aside from that, a great little investment. We don't even own a tumble drier, so it's all we use.On the up

If I have somewhere sheltered outside or adequately ventilated space inside I set up a double line. Two lines about a foot apart and in parallel. Then I hang the clothes between the two lines. It means that airflow can cross them and they aren't touching and you can get in a hell of a lot of clothes. Sadly we're in a flat where there are normally condensation problems so tumble dryer it is but that used to be very effective.
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

Does anyone have one of those heated drying racks (like this one)? If so, would you recommend it (and are they cheap to run)? They seem to get good reviews but I'd like to hear a review from someone 'in real life'
I'm seriously thinking of saving for one as we don't have room for a dryer and I'm so sick of spending all winter doing the washing dance ...

I save money on gas and electricity by air drying my clothes. I have both outdoor and indoor clothesline just in case it rains outside.
The weather now is so unpredictable so a mom like me should always have 2 options or else, I would have to repeat the laundry again and that would cost twice the price. LOL
