Yes, I'm sorry if I offend you beenthereworntheshirt - yours may be a genuine offer of help, but there have been a few folks around recently who have been just on here to publicise their own commercial debt management/debt advice companies - I'm not saying you fall into this category, but please anyone, exercise a great deal of caution if you are approached in this way."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Can you elaborate exactly what company you own and what your interests are?
My main interest is to help people. I have been in severe debt myself and nearly lost everything. I like most of you in this forum are fed up of companies jumping on the band wagon, as it were. I have been a debt adviser now for 9 years and can provide a full statement of means with pro rata payments and the letters offering the payments free of charge.
Each one takes a minimal amount of time on my part and is all emailable, therefore no postage costs.
Sorry SS but no need for the Woah hang on! I am only trying to help.0 -
Yeah it was £50 a month fees actually and they want to keep the first £300 for themselves.
I have been on the CCCS website and filled out the form on line. I think I would like to call them though and talk to someone. Is it just advice they give or will they actually contact my loan companies?
I know this sounds drastic, but I feel like this debt is ruining my life. I can't do anything I want anymore and have sooo learnt my lesson not to be silly with my money. If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0 -
Hi welsh_cake
if you decide on a dmp with either payplan or cccs they will deal with all your creditors, you will pay them (paypal or cccs) the payment each month and they will distribute it to all the people you owe. Hope that helps.

The CCCS are very highly thought of on here - they will go through your options and explain the implications of what you are doing - and yes, they will write to your creditors. From what I have heard from others on this forum, your creditors are more likely to agree to the repayment proposals if they have come from the CCCS rather than if you just contact them yourself."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Do Not Pay For Debt Management!!!!!
We went down this road a few years ago with a company called Gregory Pennington. Basically they promised that everything would sort itself out and our credit wouldn't be badly affected and our creditors would agree to their conditions....
However it was all lies  they charged £25 per month (this was 5 years ago) plus the repayments of £200 per month, we got ccj's, creditors didn't agree and ultimately I was made BR.
I really could of done all the work myself setting up the payment plans etc but we were young and daft.
Try CCCS they are free and do the same job (probably better)0 -
Go to Citizens Advice first - they really helped me.0

Thank you everyone so much. I am certainly going to contact CCCS or Payplan and will let you all know how I got on. At the start of lunch i wanted to cry because i didn't know if i was getting ripped off with Gemstone, but now I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that there are people out there who actually want to help. I am at work, so must dash, but will be logging on later when I get home.
THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN.If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0
