After 13 years in the same job I would like to take the plunge and try to statt a fresh in the view of building an entirely new career for myself in health sciences but as a 30 year old in a currently very low paid job with a family to support doing a full time uni coarse is simply not an option . I have been looking at the open university page and they have a health sciences basic certificate that I could work towards on a part time basis but for what it wull cost it would be very reassuring to know if it would be recognised by potential employers and if its a good starting position for progression in this field . Any help or advice would be hugely well recieved .

I think it would help us more to know what you do now and what you would like to do?
Are you looking at a total career change or progressing in your current field of work?
What degree or qualification level are you aiming at?
Did you realise that you can get a student loan for the OU fees so cost doesn't need to be an issue or a barrier to qualification. There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0 -
Why not look into the courses you can do at FE Colleges? You can do degree level courses there (Level 4+) for a fraction of the cost of Uni.0
